Master Anos.
The Exorcist.
This frail lady is paralysed from the waist down. She lives in a small hut with holes in the roof and having no electricity it is always very dark inside her home. When it rains water flows inside the house. The only furniture she has is a chair and a beautiful image of Jesus Christ that she bought on credit.
She is neglected by her husband and because she is paralysed she is condemned to stay at home day and night in the dark. Now she is convinced that she is possessed by duwendes/duendes (dwarfs) and she hears them all the time playing in her house and making fun of her.
She confessed to me that she is so exhausted and desperate that she just wants to die.
Duwendes are a kind of dwarfs (Spanish: duende "golbin, elf, charm"). They are little creatures who can provide good fortune or bad fate to humans. In the Philippines, duwendes frequently live in houses, in trees, underground, termite like mounds or hills, and in rural areas. They are known to be either good or mischievous, depending on how homeowners treat them. They usually come out at 12 noon for an hour and during the night. Filipinos always mutter words "tabi-tabi po" asking them to excuse themselves for bothering the duwendes. Filipinos sometimes leave food on the floor, so that the duwende residing (or guarding) the house so as not to anger them. They are also said to take your belongings and laugh at you when attempting to find them back. However they give the items back when they feel like it or when asked nicely to give them back.
Master Anos decided to go to her house and chase the dwendes away.

My friend Dennis Villegas who was with me is making a documentary movie about Master Anos and he agreed to share a short movie clip with us. I really recommend you to watch this short video.
